Atlanta producer DJ Toomp — best known for crafting T.I.’s “What You Know” and “24s” —revealed that the King is looking to get a verse from Big Boi’s reclusive other half.
“Different people have been reaching out to Dre [because] he’s still one of the greatest around”, Toomp told VIBE, adding that T.I. has the advantage of Dre’s being a fan of his. “If they do [the song] I would really love to produce it. Dre is a fan of T.I. and [Young] Jeezy. And [T.I. and Jeezy] be like, ‘Dang, he really dig me like that?!’”

Vibe listed their Top Ten Most Anticipated Albums of 2010 and 7 out of the 10 albums were Hip Hop. I totally agree with Vibe on this list. I probably would have change the order on a few. If you noticed Dr. Dre or the Game are nowhere on the list. Interesting. Let’s cross our fingers that Andre 3000 actually drops this year.
Check out the 10 projects VIBE is most amped about in the new year.
#10.
Andre 3000, TBD Release Date: 2010? Expected Production: A studio loner, it’s likely Three Stacks’ solo LP will be mostly self-produced, but don’t count out Outkast affiliates Rico Wade or DJ Swift.
‘Dirty States Of America: The Untold Story of Southern Hip Hop’ was originally released on DVD in 2003 by director James “FLX” Smith. It chronicles Down South Hip Hop from the rappers, DJ’s, and producers’ perspective. MTV2 will re-air the critically acclaimed documentary tonight at 11pm. Paul Wall, Luke, David Banner, Lil Jon, T.I., and Scarface are among some of the artists that are interviewed in this in-depth look into Southern Hip Hop and its origins. Smith also has upcoming projects such as the 8Ball & MJG documentary ‘United We Stand’ and KLC from No Limit fame’s “Drum Major” scheduled for release in early 2010.
