Performing at the Afro-Punk Festival in Brooklyn, Mos Def hits us with “Umi Says” and Travellin’ Man.” In my opinion Mos is one of the best live performers out right now.

Ski Beatz produced this track off of Curren$y’s Pilot Talk. Jay Elect and Mos Def contribute to make this Center Edge Territory sneak peak a success. Check it out!
Talib and Hi Tek talk about the album title, J. Cole, and J. Electronica among other things. Nice interview. Check it out.
I applaud Big Boi for informing these rap cats that they aren’t freestyling. Like he said, you can’t have your homeboy doing your ad libs while you’re spitting. You can’t spit the same verse more than once when asked to kick a hot 16. Common, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and even Snoop Dogg are some of the last MC’s that still freestyle- the old school way. It would be cool if these rappers would just spit and not label the verse a “freestyle”. Its misrepresentation!
Now this is something new. I’ve never heard of a visual mixtape before, but this is amazing. Ski Beatz out together a mixtape (which is still not done yet) and let us catch a sneak peak of it visually. With appearances from Mos Def, Jay Electronica, Jim Jones, Curren$y and many more, I can’t wait for the full project to drop.
At the Gulf Aid Concert in New Orleans, Mos Def performs a new song titled “It Ain’t My Fault.” In wake of the BP oil spill, Mos channels a little New Orleans blues and jazz to convey his thoughts.
One half of BlackStar stopped by LaterWith Jools Holland to perform “Quiet Dog Bite Hard” live on the trap set. Check it out!
Check out Jay Electronica walking the streets of New Orleans and performing Exhibit A. Mos Def even drops his verse from Exhibit A the crowd went crazy. Jay Electronica is that dude to watch.
I want Jay Electronica to demolish the entire alphabet. A and C aren’t enough for me. By the way, message to Jay Elec: “When you gonna drop that, you taking too long”
About time on of the best albums of the Mos Def’s careers starts earning him some cash
