Drake, Eminem, Game, T.I., Rick Ross, Ice Cube, Jeezy, Kanye West, and Big Boi all have highly anticipated albums dropping this year. Ja Rule has an album scheduled for release. Nas and Damien Marley’s project also has fans waiting. Redman, Juelz Santana, and the Roots all have albums coming out. 2010 still seems to be promising, with some of these CD’s dropping in the near future.
So far, Ludacris, 8Ball & MJG, Reflection Eternal, B.o.B, Trina, and Bone have already released projects for Hip Hop fans to get by on for now. Personally, for me, its been mostly mixtapes that have been scratching that rap itch. So much music is just given away to the public today, albums just get lost in the mix with all the other pieces of work that are shoved in our faces daily. Will any of these scheduled releases be what we have been waiting for? Will 2010 end up being a great year for Hip Hop like ‘88 or ‘94? It certainly has potential to be. I don’t think this much attention has been paid to finished products for some time now. All these artists know that these next albums must be as potent as possible. Everybody knows that they have to deliver. No excuses. The fans want quality, not this watered down stuff that invades the airways. Hip Hop is ready, and long overdue for another “Golden” year. Peace!
