Well it looks like Mr. Cole is still dropping unreleased music. Nice sample of the classic track How High by Method Man and Redman. Still not a official release date for his upcoming album but he was on Ustream discussing the first single which samples a Kanye West track. Clearances are holding up the release. We should hear it really soon though.
It’s always good to see two of hip-hop’s brightest new acts link up and create some good music. “In The Morning” was featured on J. Cole’s amazing Friday Night Lights mixtape. While this may not be Drake or J. Cole’s finest lyrical work, the song and video are still both worth a watch and listen.
That’s right, Jay Electronica has been signed to Jay-Z’s record label Roc Nation. Jay-Z dropped this bomb on an unsuspecting crowd during his secret show right before introducing the man himself. This is a good day for Roc Nation: they get one of the best lyricists in the game, and J. Cole drops the mixtape of the year. Looks like Christmas came early this year, can you imagine the collaborations we can look forward to? Just imagine Jay-Z and Jay Electronica going verse for verse on a track.

Everyone make sure to take note of Tracks 14 and 15. You know Curren$y is doing something right if he can get Dr. Dre to come out of hiding and produce a song on his album. Oh and he gets two of the hottest MC’s in the game (J. Cole and Jay Electronica) to help him close out Pilot Talk 2. November 22nd can’t come soon enough.
