To any Jay-Z fan who owns and iPhone and decides to get his Decoded app, you’ll also recieve this breif video where Jay speaks on how his style has evolved and how he experiments with different techiniques in his rhymes. If you liked the video I highly recommend picking up his book Decoded. It goes in depth with some of Jay-Z’s best verses and where the inspiration came from. I learned a lot about his mentality from reading it.
I’m happy that Jay Electronica is finally getting his shine. He is an amazing mc with respect for the culture. That is something that is missing in today’s game. Only a few “new” (eventhough he has been around the underground for years he’s new to many) artist have that respect.
Kid Cudi grabbed the October/November cover of Complex Magazine and talked about his past drug use, his upcoming album, and even throws a shot at Wale.
…Speaking of Wale, when you hit that fan at your show last December, he came out with a line about it ["Throwin' 'round wallets like the dude that Kid Cudi hit," from "Thank You Freestyle"]. Kid Cudi: It wasn’t a shot, it’s just a simple-ass rhyme by a simple-ass rapper. You can’t let that shit faze you. That’s one of those raps that just shows the world that you wack. Why would you even use that as a metaphor? Everybody think they Hov. Niggas ain’t got the magic like they think they do; there’s only a couple of wizards in this game. I’m a wizard and I know it.
Jay Electronica sits down with DJ Semtex to discuss his European tour, traveling the world, and most importantly his upcoming project Act II. Jay Elect is aiming to release it on his birthday, which is September 19th. A month?!? I can’t wait another month for this. I can still remember hearing “Exhibit C” for the first time and not quite realizing how amazing it was. Then a couple of rotations later, and I was hooked. This guy is one of the dopest lyricists I’ve ever heard and he’s exactly what hip-hop needs. If by some miracle Jay Electronica sees this: Make my day life and let me get an advance copy!
In this interview, Drake talks about his writing process. I’m surprised he didn’t say “talk to Lil Wayne” instead of “a BlackBerry” when he was asked how he writes. Better Than Good Enough airs tonight @10:00pm on MTV.
Here is part 2 of the interview. She’s telling the truth about Drake. Ray J said it he didnt even say that dudes name. I heard the track she is talking about and Kim killed that joint. Check out the interview.
Drake stops by DJ Semtex’s radio show and talks about the expectations of rapping overseas, and outside of the US. With 4 days until the official release of Thank Me Later, Drizzy certainly is keeping his name on everyone’s lips.
