Wow. Thats really all I can say about this track. Eminem and Royce da 5′9 fit perfectly together and Bruno Mars does a nice job on the hook. I think this is the next “Airplanes” but with better rapping. Get used to hearing this one a lot, Em, Royce and Bruno Mars have a hit with this one.
Odd Future frontman Tyler the Creator drops the new video for “She” which features his right hand man Frank Ocean. “She” is off Tyler’s debut album Goblin which I recommend to anyone who is a fan of Eminem. Personally I liked his mixtape Bastard a little more but Goblin is a nice extension of that. Be on the lookout for more Odd Future, this group is here to stay.
To any Jay-Z fan who owns and iPhone and decides to get his Decoded app, you’ll also recieve this breif video where Jay speaks on how his style has evolved and how he experiments with different techiniques in his rhymes. If you liked the video I highly recommend picking up his book Decoded. It goes in depth with some of Jay-Z’s best verses and where the inspiration came from. I learned a lot about his mentality from reading it.
After a live performance at the Grammys, Dr. Dre finally releases the official video for “I Need A Doctor.” I really like the beginning of the video, where we get flashes of Dr. Dre’s early days and how he got started in the game. With the steady release of new material, it looks the long awaited Detox is finally going to become a reality. About time.
Talk about a surprise, out of no where Wiz Khalifa dropped a new mixtape today titled Cabin Fever. The mixtape features 9 new tracks and features from Big Sean, Juicy J, Trae Tha Truth, and Chevy Woods. Taylor Gang!
It’s always good to see two of hip-hop’s brightest new acts link up and create some good music. “In The Morning” was featured on J. Cole’s amazing Friday Night Lights mixtape. While this may not be Drake or J. Cole’s finest lyrical work, the song and video are still both worth a watch and listen.
The Steelers may have lost the Super Bowl, but Pittsburgh still has a reason to celebrate. After 18 weeks on the charts, “Black & Yellow” has finally secured the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Thats always a huge accomplisment, but its especially impressive seeing that Wiz is so new to the game. Congrats to Wiz Khalifa and the rest of the Taylor Gang!
Snoop Dogg shows a little love for his favorite football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. With production by David Banner the beat is pretty nice but I think the lyrics are no where near Snoop’s best. Hopefully when he drops the Doggumentary on March 29th he goes back to his traditional rhyme style.
Wiz and Snoop really are the new Cheech and Chong. The highest duo in the game give us the visual for “That Good” which is one of the songs featured on the soundtrack for their joint (get it) movie High School. The flick goes straight to DVD on April 20th, so hopefully we get more of the soundtrack before then.
Wiz Khalifa drops another hit from the same producer who created “Black and Yellow.” No rumors on where “Stoned” is going to end up, but there’s a lot of happy Wiz fans right now. I don’t think this single will create the same monster buzz as “Black and Yellow” but he’s going to get a lot of radio play with this one.
