Album Review: The Clipse ‘Til The Casket Drops’

clipseThe Clipse are back for the third time with their new album ‘Til The Casket Drops’ set for release on December 8th. Overall, it’s a solid album. Production from the Neptunes on over half of the LP helped out a lot. Guest appearances by Kanye, Keri Hilson, Yo Gotti, and Camron didn’t hurt either. Other than that, it’s your typical, cocky, coke rap that these Virginia natives are famous for.

The highlights of the album are Popular Demand (ft Camron), Kinda Like A Big Deal (ft Kanye West), Eyes on Me, and Counseling, which has an old school feel to it. The track with Yo Gotti has potential to be a club favorite, but gets kind of boring after a minute. Footsteps also has a nice concept. The rest of the album is just boastful lyrics, head-nod rhythms, and drug numbers being spit at you like its nothing.
